About Us
About Ritchie Street Group Practice
Ritchie Street Neighbourhood Health Centre, one of Islington’s oldest practices, started as The Doctors Group Practice in the 1920s. It has moved locations several times, finally settling in its current purpose-built facility in 1997 and renamed Ritchie Street Group Practice.
The practice serves nearly 18,000 patients and is known for its accessibility. It is open six days a week, including evenings and Saturdays, to accommodate parents and working individuals.
Our staff includes health visitors, community matrons, district nurses, dieticians, midwives, psychologists, counselors, and mental health professionals. We work closely with University College London Hospital and The Whittington Hospital for medical care and train junior doctors.
The practice is wheelchair accessible, with all consultation rooms on the ground floor. We also offer a nappy and breastfeeding room and have an on-site pharmacy for patient convenience.

North Central London Integrated Care Systems (NCL ICS)
At our practice, we are proud to be commissioned by the North Central London – Integrated Care System (NCL ICS), which oversees healthcare services for Islington patients. As of 2022, NCL ICS has replaced the old Clinical Commissioning Groups (CCGs) and is responsible for coordinating healthcare in five boroughs, including Barnet, Camden, Enfield, Haringey, and Islington, serving a population of approximately 1.6 million residents
As a trusted healthcare provider, we offer General Practice primary care services to our patients as part of the NCL ICS commission. Additionally, we are proud to provide enhanced services, including our drug and alcohol service, to meet specific needs within our community.
We encourage you to visit the North Central London – Integrated Care System website for more information about their important role, initiatives, and objectives. This integrated care system aims to improve healthcare outcomes and enhance the well-being of the population.
